Abumi (Stirrups)
Mid Edo Period
Signed: Banshu O(this kanji is hard to make out) ju Fujiwara Shigehisa Saku
This is a very fine pair of Abumi decorated in soft metal with maple leaves and wire inlay in a water like background. There is a signature on the bottom that states they are made in Banshu province and gives the town name, but the second kanji is hard to make out. The makers name is Sadahisa. These are beautiful and have a very nice original patina.
